At one meeting, while being encouraged to play the game, Bug was asked what was something that he was afraid of. He looked that player straight in the eye and told him, "nuttin'!". The guy was so thrilled with Bugs answer and is really taken by our little man. Each time he sees Bug he asks him what he's afraid of.
The kids were pretty star struck, awed and quiet for the first little while but now they are old pros at dealing with these "celebrities" (local anyway). I don't think I would even give it a second thought as to if it would be worth it next year...if they want to and time permits...we'll be readin'.

Awww....
We love Read with the Raiders too.
#18 is one of our favorites. We are over the starstruck feeling too, we just love him cuz he hangs out at our house and plays Guitar Hero.
And as far as their behaviour at BP's, I would encourage you to contact the coach if it is really bad. They are really trying to clean up this team and teach them how to be proper ambassadors for the team and the city.
The bad behavior was 2 seasons ago...I will know in a week how this season's team is. We had contacted the coach but it got to the point where our manager didn't want to take "business away" by gettng them upset at him...
Hopefully these boys are as good as the ones we have dealt with at Read with the Raiders
P.S. small world that "your" Raider is one of the ones that was with my Bug.
Well #18 isn't my Raider. That would be #1 who would have been there other times. Dobber is one of Steven's closest friends so he is here quite a bit.
And this is a new coach and they are really trying to change that bad behaviour.
Maybe we will see you at the next reading
I have been quite impressed with the boys from Reading time. Maybe we will see you there. February is the last one all ready and I know my kids are pretty upset by that...they figure it should be all year. LOL
