My Absurd Religion

A video from Utube from Pastor Steve Gray on My Absurd Religion...

and one more...

Why do so many Christians push their morality and their laws instead of pushing for the presence of God? If we would just seek for His presence everything else would just line up. You can not be in His presence and remain unchanged. You just can't!

He has some good words there.

Another question: why do Christians try to push morality on others but ignore Jesus' very simple command to love your neighbour? If we don't have love, we don't have anything.

Marc, I agree with you but I think I would word your last statement more this way...
If we don't have God, we don't have anything and with God we just naturally have that love.

I agree with what you're saying, but it's Paul who said that thing about love (1 Corinthians 13 has that series of "If I have such and so, but have not love, I am nothing" statements). He concludes that chapter by saying, "These three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love".

Of course, later in the New Testament it says that God is love.

While I see what you're saying, I guess to me "having God" could mean anything to anyone---"God" could mean any number of things, depending on your situation. But love is very distinct, particularly as defined by Jesus: it is an action that puts off the self and God and others first.

But maybe I'm just not sure what you mean by "have God".

What I mean by "having God", and I don't know if I can explain myself properly or thoroughly, is getting into the presence of God & getting myself in place where His presence is with me always not just making Him an add-on in my life...but making Him my life. I, personally, don't want to be just a Sunday Christian; I want everything that I do be God focused and not self focused and I think, in a nutshell, that is what I mean by "having God".

I still don't think I explained myself well though.
